Happy Mardi Gras!
We had another cool day today so I was excited for an opportunity to wear my vintage trousers. Thanks to my costume designer friend Sheila who hemmed them perfectly before we left!
We drove into a neighborhood boarding the French Quarter and got a parking space really quickly. Many thanks to the parking fairy.
We walked through so many neighborhoods and so many block parties. It was insane! So many amazing costumes and hoards of people! We meant to get a costume together but we never got around to it. Boy did I feel under dressed!
We got a table at the famous Café du Monde and ate beniets and drank our café au lait. So amazingly delicious! I am dying to go back. I was tempted to buy big containers of their coffee grounds to take home with us.
We got pounds of beads from parades
Deanie’s Seafood was recommended to us as a good place to grab a bite. The line around the block looked promising but we were not impressed.
