Today we felt like real RV-ers! Our rig had been winterized by RV dealership and it was time to de-winterized and get all the tanks clear and ready to use! To store our RV through the winter and in below freezing temperatures you have to fill the water line with a non-toxic pink antifreeze solution. It’s a very smart thing to do but it means you can’t use any water until to clear it all out. Day 1- February 7th – Roanoke, VA
Waking up to a cold rainy miserable day seemed to make sense with how we felt. One of the major reasons we wanted to stop through Roanoke is because Deven grew up there. He has been longing to give me a tour of his town, visit old friends, visit family, and relive the nostalgia of 1985-2003. Though we didn’t feel up to visiting with anyone we thought it may be nice to drive around a little. We had a late lunch at Macados. “To go forward, you must leave something behind.” —————————————————————————————————————– We left Richmond at 9 pm already a day late from our aimed departure date. We were excited to finally hit the road but were overwhelmingly exhausted and stressed from moving. We left behind a few boxes and furniture so even as we turned out the lights and locked up it didn’t quite feel like we were finished.
